“If we were to define in one word the subject of this exhibition, we would say that it is life. Life seen up close, the intimate and fundamental experience of being human: the original portrait of the human being as the sole and absolute inhabitant of his own soul, committed to the experience of fundamental mood movements whose origin is nothing but the incessant questioning (derived from dealing with the world) to take over one’s life, with the courage and rigour of whom who is heading towards his own liberation.
Hopelessness, desolation, anguish and anxiety of a body fatigued to the limit by the violence of internal forces. Exhaustion, finally, the glimmer of a slight hope that still trembles weakly in the air. Some of the universal moods (moments that create the general meaning of the work) are presented literally and with mastery by the artist, leading us to the direct experience of the mystery of what in his view is uncovered.
A sharp understanding on how real spaciousness and luminosity (elements whose realization is always linked to a living existence) combine in its simplicity and tremendous power. This knowledge gives the artist the chance to extend to the outside the possibilities of expressing what is human (revealing his radical understanding about the true meaning of dwelling) and enables us to get even closer to the truth of this naked human being.
