The first issue of OneArt seeks to address the problematics of art and identity. Some general questions we wish to explore include: how does identity relate to art and ethics? How is identity performed and manifested in art? What is the meaning of identity in the world of post-identity politics?

Some general topics may include:

  • Identity and globalisation
  • Identity from the transcultural perspective
  • Centres and peripheries
  • Searching for roots in a foreign land; diaspora and cosmopolitanism
  • Mother-tongue and art in diaspora
  • Race, colour - longing for the absolute

Artist's database

OneArt is currently in the process of creation of a virtual database of artists and their work, which should include a biography of artists, virtual gallery of their work. Our goal is to present visually their work and promote it in the world and in the Czech republic. The database should provide the public with accurate and coherent source of information about each included artist. ...read more

Scholarly papers

We accept original and unpublished texts in the form of academic articles as well as theoretical essays, comparative case studies, intellectual commentaries, review essays and scholarly book reviews. Lecture transcriptions, interviews and other materials, will also be considered. ...read more  

Art and artists

We welcome visual presentations of your work, essays, reviews or interviews which are relevant to our current theme. We cover a wide range of media including sound works, design and craft, performance transcripts, etc. ...read more
