Locks | 2005 | synthetic hair, padlock, wire | 40 x 170 x 15 cm | The Western idea of Samson’s hair and hair, as a sign of vanity in Buddhism are meld together by interlacing strands of hair into a three-dimensional composition of lines and curves.
Wrongs of Woman | 2006 | lamp, fabric, wood | 81 x 44.5 x 44.5 cm | Inspired by the 18th century British writer Mary Wollstonecraft’s literature The Wrongs of woman, the top of the assemblage is adored by halo and collar, while the lower part of the table lamp is a hidden prison where a woman figure is hung like a witch. Women are expected to be virtue and good, not by education but by punishment.
Throne Noir | 2006 | toilet seat, painted wood, fabric, crystal, clock | 81 x 38 x 51 cm | The Latin Motto “Quis evadet”, means “Who shall escape” is embroidered on the emblem of the seat back of the throne (throne means toilet in British slang). The throne and the ticking of time are inevitable.
