The minimalistic work of Iranian born artist Hadi Tabatabai catches the attention of most viewers by its symetric geometrical patterns, which are skillfuly arranged through sets of individual threads. The threads are the basis constituting individual paintings, in this case the Portals. The name itself evokes certain transcendental meaning of the paintings, that may represent a kind of primordial essence of our reality. Threads on the black background, which here stands for infinity, could serve as strings played on by the viewer´s own mind to allow him the deepest meditation about the nature of things.
